About Us

E. Preston (Electrical) Ltd has been a specialist distributor of electrical and electronic components since 1980, offering thousands of products to meet a wide variety of needs and applications.

But we do more than simply sell components — we have built a reputation as a company who do business the traditional and honest way. Paying attention to the simple things — like phoning people back when we say we will — has kept our customers coming back for over four decades.

Our staff are experts in their fields, we maintain appropriate stock levels, and all of our processes are fully computerised to ensure a smooth operation.
We also understand that business is carried out between people, not companies. We do the hard work to maintain relationships with our suppliers as well as our customers. That way everybody in every part of the supply chain is satisfied – from the manufacturer to the end consumer.

The company, which is still wholly owned by the Directors, is located on a modern industrial estate which lies six miles to the east of Manchester in the North West of England.

SMT Switch TCS43

  • SMT Type Switch
  • High Number of Cycles
  • 2.2mm Low Profile Design

The TCS43 is a microminiature SMT tactile switch designed for high-performance applications requiring compact size, reliability, and precise haptic Feedback. With a footprint of just 4.2 × 3.2 mm and a low profile of 2.5 mm, it enables space-efficient PCB layouts without compromising usability.

The switch offers three actuation force options (180 gf, 250 gf, 400 gf; equivalent to 1.76 N to 3.92 N), allowing engineers to fine-tune the user experience depending on application requirements. Its mechanical lifetime of up to 100,000 cycles ensures long-term reliability, even in demanding environments.

Electrical performance supports low-power designs (10 µA to 50 mA, 1–12 VDC), while contact resistance remains ≤100 mΩ for stable signal integrity. The device operates reliably across a wide temperature range (-40 °C to +90 °C), making it suitable for both consumer and medical applications.

Typical use cases include user interfaces such as on/off switching, menu navigation, and parameter selection in high-end consumer electronics, home automation systems, IoT devices, and medical equipment (e.g., blood pressure monitors, ventilators).

The TCS43 combines compact design, robust performance, and flexible actuation characteristics
making it an ideal choice for next-generation interface solutions.
