Schurter Three-Terminal Fuses (STTP) for Battery Systems

Intelligent Fuse Solutions for Battery Systems
The Schurter three-terminal fuses STTP 9550 combine conventional overcurrent protection with an actively triggered overcharge protection function, providing an additional layer of safety for lithium-ion battery systems.
In addition to current-dependent interruption, the integrated trigger terminal enables controlled activation in critical operating conditions. This allows reliable disconnection of charge and discharge paths even in the event of protection IC or FET failure.
Gold-plated terminals ensure low and stable contact resistance, high signal integrity, and
excellent corrosion resistance. The compact package supports high-power-density battery pack
designs ranging from 1 to 24 cells.
Applications:
Typical applications include energy storage systems, power tools, UPS equipment, e-bikes, e
scooters, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). Supported by UL approvals and designed for
redundant protection architectures required by modern battery safety standards, three-terminal
fuses provide a robust and intelligent protection solution for advanced energy systems.

PPTC: Compact Protection for Maximum Reliability

The new PPTC series PFTA, PFTB, PFTC and PFTL provide reliable resettable overcurrent
protection for modern electronic applications. In the event of a fault, the polymer PTC device
automatically increases resistance to effectively protect systems against overloads and short
circuits — without replacing fuses.
The portfolio includes radial leaded and SMD versions with current ratings from 0.05 to 5 A and
voltage ratings up to 72 V. UL-compliant flame-retardant materials and compatibility with
automated assembly processes make these series ideal for industrial high-volume applications.
Applications:
Typical applications include energy storage systems, power supplies, industrial electronics,
consumer electronics, automotive systems, wearables, SSDs and Li-ion batteries. The compact
PFTL SMD series additionally enables space-saving designs with high integration density.
