FPR – High-Performance 5x20 Fuse Holder for Vertical PCB Mounting
Modern electronic designs require ever higher power density with reduced space requirements – without compromising on safety and reliability. The FPR fuse holder was developed precisely to meet these requirements. It offers an impressive 30% higher power consumption with the same footprint as the well-established FPG4 series. This means more thermal load capacity without taking up additional space on the PCB.
With a power consumption of 3.2 watts at 10 amps at 23 °C ambient temperature, the FPR significantly outperforms the previous generation. The housing dimensions remain compact at 12.5 mm, which enables simple 1:1 integration into existing designs. At the same time, the component meets all relevant standards with regard to vibration resistance in accordance with IEC 60068-2-6 and operates reliably in a temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C. The IP40 degree of protection rounds off the technical profile.
Compatible with FPG4 Series
The FPR provides developers with a powerful, space-saving and easy-to-install solution that impresses with its high thermal load capacity – all without changing the existing layout. The new fuse holder is 100% compatible with the existing FPG4.
Application Areas
The FPR is particularly suitable for applications with high current loads and limited space – for example in industrial automation, mechanical engineering or building automation.

Low-Current Chip Fuse for ATEX and Precision Applications
In modern electronic applications - especially in safety-critical areas such as ATEX certified environments - the requirements for miniaturization, precision and thermal resistance are constantly increasing. The new USL 0603 low-current fuse has been specifically developed to meet these requirements.
An outstanding feature of the USL 0603 is the extended creepage distance of 1.1 mm (pad-to pad). This means that it meets the requirements of IEC 60079-11 for 60 VDC applications in which a minimum creepage distance of 1 mm is required. This makes it one of the few fuses in the 0603 format that can be used without hesitation in ATEX applications - for example in the oil and gas industry, chemical processing or mining.
Quick Acting Characteristic
Thanks to its fast tripping time (tripping at 2.5 times the rated current in under 5 seconds), the USL 0603 offers precise protection for sensitive circuits. At the same time, its low voltage drop ensures minimal energy losses - an advantage that pays off not only in ATEX applications, but also in battery-operated designs.
Wide Operating Range
With an extended operating temperature range of up to 150 °C, the fuse is ideally suited for demanding thermal environments - from mobile medical diagnostic devices to industrial sensor applications.
Typical Applications
Ideal areas of application for the USL 0603 are ATEX-certified systems in which potential ignition sources must be avoided through reliable current limitation. The chip fuse is also highly suitable for medical devices, where precise tripping times and low power loss are crucial. There are also sensor applications in industry and consumer electronics, which are particularly sensitive to overcurrent.
