What is an IEC Connector?

An IEC connector is an electronic cable that meets the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. The specification for IEC connectors is IEC-60320. The connectors mounted with wires are referred to as female connectors or sockets. The connectors mounted with panels are known as male connectors or plugs.
