Switchgear and Control Gear

What is Switchgear and Control Gear?

Switchgear is a collective term for electrical disconnect switches, circuit breakers and fuses that ensure that electrical equipment is controlled, isolated and protected. Generally speaking, low, medium and high voltage switchgear is employed in power distribution applications. Control gear that is low or medium voltage is generally used in industrial applications where electrical equipment – particularly electric motors - needs to be protected from earth faults, surges and short circuits. It also provides simple control functions such as stop/start and building up motor speed.

What Do We Supply?

We supply an extensive range of switch and control gear, including:
Contactors
DIN rail terminals
Overload relays

E-T-A Solid State Relays

Image

The solid state relay portfolio is used in all applications where mechanical relays reach their limits. They switch more frequently, quieter and faster than mechanical relays and are particularly suitable for applications in buses and trucks, in agricultural vehicles and construction machinery, in specialty vehicles and passenger cars.

E-T-A solid state relays are available for DC 12 V and DC 24 V applications and are suitable for standard automotive relay sockets to ISO 7588.

Solid state relays combine high-end power semi-conductors with comprehensive know-how in the areas of heat management, EMC-compliant design and overcurrent protection. The electronic circuitry ensures wear-free, silent and extremely fast switching operations over the entire life span.

The electronic standard relays type ESR10 Micro are solid state relays for DC 12 V and DC 24 V vehicle applications. This space-saving relay is available in three power classes:

  • 10 A for max. 85° C / (12 and 24) Vdc
  • 17 A for max. 105° C / (12 and 24) Vdc
  • 30 A for max. 85° C / 12 Vdc

Their Benefits Include:

  • Silent Switching
  • Bidirectional Control
  • Low Current Consumption
  • Long Life Span

The ESR10 Micro relays can easily replace an electro-mechanical relay because polarity of the control input does not matter. The solid state relays are suitable for switching resistive, inductive and capacitive or lamp loads. Unlike electro-mechanical relays they offer frequency control as an option.

Wieland gesis® NV Signal Connector

Image

The connector system for quick, easy, and safe bus cabling and signal applications. It meets all the requirements of modern building installation.

Wieland NV Pic

Low-Voltage Technology
These connectors are used to distribute signals in buildings, in parallel to the distribution of power. Mechanical coding and clear assignment with different colors facilitate assembly. Complex installations can be realized with just four basic components – from the sub-distribution unit to any point of use. The connectors come as male and female connectors complete with strain relief and can be used to connect any current type of cable.

The BST14 are designed according to the KNX manual.

The 5G2.5/4+2X1.5 flat cable with shielded bus, as per the KNX manual, is available for the combined distribution of energy and signals.
