Switchgear and Control Gear

What is Switchgear and Control Gear?

Switchgear is a collective term for electrical disconnect switches, circuit breakers and fuses that ensure that electrical equipment is controlled, isolated and protected. Generally speaking, low, medium and high voltage switchgear is employed in power distribution applications. Control gear that is low or medium voltage is generally used in industrial applications where electrical equipment – particularly electric motors - needs to be protected from earth faults, surges and short circuits. It also provides simple control functions such as stop/start and building up motor speed.

What Do We Supply?

We supply an extensive range of switch and control gear, including:
Contactors
DIN rail terminals
Overload relays
MCBs

4799: IEC Connector C19 for Cable Mounting with V-Lock

  • IEC 60320 Connector, C19 IEC 16 A, UL 20 A
  • V-Lock Cord Retention
  • Ideal for Power Cable Production in Small Volumes or Maintenance Work
Schurter 4799 Pic

The 4799 rewireable IEC connector from Schurter is the first of its kind: it combines a rewireable C19 connector with the proven V-Lock cord retention system.

Fast reaction time is an important factor in opening a new market for a device. Rewirable connectors are particularly flexible and especially suitable for small series of mains cables to enable exactly this. These connectors give you the freedom to choose the right cable with a country-specific plug.

Applications for a Safe Connection (V-Lock)
With electrical appliances that are moved or vibrate during operation, there is a risk of the power cable being unintentionally pulled out of the appliance, resulting in a power failure. Therefore, cord retention systems such as the one on the 4799 are a cost-effective solution to a potentially expensive problem. Cord retention systems are typically required for applications in the field of medical analysis, diagnostic or laboratory equipment, portable instruments, professional audio/video applications or equipment in the food industry.

Halogen-Free Design
Type 4799 from Schurter does not use halogens for the bushing or any other plastic components.

Approvals and Certifications
The 4799 connector has all approvals for the European, Chinese and North American markets. It is certified in accordance with the IEC/UL/CCC 60320 standard.

68 Series – New 100A Power Relay for Printed Circuit Boards

Finder 68 Series Pic 100a
Finder 68 Series Pic1

Thanks to its specific design and technical characteristics, the new Finder 68 Series power relay achieves the switching of exceptionally high loads, making it perfect in the context of energy production and distribution and in particular for the world’s demand for green sustainable mobility (EV-charging).

It can be used in charging stations up to 55 kW, in the production of inverters, battery chargers, emergency power generators, as well as in many other renewable energy applications.

It can also be installed in uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), in pump control panels and inside automation control panels such as for the control of heavy-duty elevators.

Suitable for mounting and connecting via a printed circuit board, thanks to its 2 NO 100 A rated contacts, the Type 68.22 can achieve the full switching of a three-phase + neutral load up to 100 A by utilizing JUST 2 relays in tandem – saving considerable PCB real estate in comparison to earlier technologies.

Function & Features:

The 68 Series power relay was designed through a careful analysis of the specific areas of application and demands of the market, combined with Finder’s know-how in the design and construction of relays.

The new 68 Series is totally MADE IN ITALY and boasts low coil consumption, a holding power of only 0.7 W, compact size and a modern design – the result of collaboration with the Milanese design studio Fossati | Minelli.

With a distance between open contacts of 3.6 mm it complies with VDE 0126-1-1 and EN 62109-1 standards, as well as meeting the requirements of EN 60335-1 relating to heat and fire resistance (GWIT 775 ° C and GWFI 850 ° C).

  • 2 NO 100 A Contacts
  • Available with 12 and 24 VDC Coil Voltages
  • Maximum Switching Voltage 400/690 V AC
  • Rated load AC1 40000 VA
  • Creepage and Clearance Distance – 8 mm
  • Contact Material AgSnO2
  • Ambient Temperature Range -40… + 85 ° C

Applications:

  • Power Generators
  • Back-up Generators
  • Pump Control
  • Disabled Lift
  • Inverter
