Terminals and Terminal Blocks

What are Terminals and Terminal blocks?

SNK Terminals are a type of industrial control terminal that is used in industrial automation, process control, and other applications. These terminals are designed to provide a secure and reliable connection between the user and the machine. They are typically used to control machinery, monitor production processes, and manage data. SNK Terminals are available in a wide range of sizes and configurations, allowing them to be used for many different types of applications.

Modular terminals are components that can be used to connect two or more devices together in a network. They are typically used to connect computers, servers, routers, switches, and other network devices. Modular terminals are often referred to as RJ-45 connectors because they use an 8-pin RJ-45 connector.

A terminal block is a type of electrical connector used to connect two or more wires together. It typically consists of a metal or plastic housing containing multiple terminals, which are the points at which the wires are connected. Terminal blocks are commonly used in industrial and commercial applications to provide a secure connection between electrical circuits.

Why Choose E. Preston?

Since our inception in 1980, our business focus has been on providing two things: a reputation for outstanding customer service, and an unbeatable range and stock of electrical and electronic components.

We feel we have achieved that at E Preston, and that probably explains our company growth over the years. We do not want to become complacent though, and we always work hard to exceed customers expectations when they deal with us, if we can.

Our service is unashamedly a little old fashioned, ensuring we follow up on promises to customers, and phoning back when we said we were going to. We also do our best to ensure the customer receives their order next day. You can also talk to us about flexible payment terms, if needed.

We have stock of numerous terminals and terminal blocks, manufactured by Hylec, Entrelec/TE and Wieland.

Please contact us if you need technical assistance about them or any of our products – our team of expert operatives will be happy to help.
whether you want to place an order for terminals or terminal blocks or to get assistance. We look forward to hearing from you!

Eaton Moeller Series - SPPVR Surge Protection

Image
SPPVR pic

The SPPVR family of surge protection devices (SPDs) is our answer to the growing need for safe and reliable photovoltaic (PV) installations in residential and commercial buildings.

Powerful protection is the first step to ensuring a long lifetime for your equipment and inverters: these SPDs ensure that your system will not be damaged by any overvoltage event on the direct current (DC) side of your PV application.

The SPPVR products can be deployed in residential settings, for example in small combiner boxes or commercial applications such as array protection boxes in PV fields. SPPVR offers a future-proof portfolio for all possible use cases.

E-T-A Power Relays

Image

E-T-A Power relays are reliable problem solvers when it comes to switching high currents. Particularly construction machinery, agricultural vehicles as well as buses and trucks, floor-borne vehicles and other special vehicles (e.g. fire brigades) often have connected large electrical loads. In these applications, power relays disconnect the entire on-board electrical system from the battery.

Depending on the application, E-T-A offers purely electro-mechanical relays, solid state relays and also a hybrid design consisting of an electro-mechanical switching system with an intelligent electronic control unit.

ETA Power Relays

Key Product Lines & Features

  • EPR10 Solid-State Relays: Designed for high continuous currents (up to 200A at 24VDC), requiring 80% less space than traditional alternatives and
eliminating the need for separate heat sinks
  • HPR10 Hybrid Relays: Combine robust mechanical, bistable switching with intelligent electronic controls, enabling features like on/off delays and voltage
    monitoring
  • MPR10/MPR20 Mechanical Relays: Bistable (MPR10) or monostable (MPR20) relays designed for high current switching with low power consumption

Key Advantages

  • Efficiency: Very low holding current reduces power consumption.
  • Durability: High resistance to environmental factors (IP57 rated for some models).
  • Maintenance: Long service life with reduced maintenance costs due to solid-state technology.
  • Functionality: Options for built-in overcurrent, short-circuit, and thermal load protection.

Applications

  • Battery Management
  • Power Distribution
  • Circuit Protection in Harsh High-Load Environments
