Eaton’s RS safety interlock switches have been specifically designed to monitor protective guards, such as doors, flaps and hoods. All switches in this
family are safety-rated and use magnetically coded actuators to minimize defeat by simple magnets. With correct installation, the RS family complies with EN ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061 guidelines.
Operation:
The RS safety interlock family includes three series: RS2, RS2R and RS4. The assembly comprises a sensor component and a separate magnet actuator component. The sensor is typically mounted to a stationary portion of a structure and the magnet to a movable portion. When the sensor and the actuator are within operating range, the NC contacts with be closed and the NO contacts will be open.
Features:
• Non-contact actuation
• Reversible mounting
• High misalignment tolerance
• SIL 3 and PLe ratings
• –10 °C to +55 °C temperature range
• IP67, IP69K
Benefits:
• Reduce SKUs
• Reduce installation time
• Tested to latest IEC and ISO standards
• Long life with non-contact actuation
• Wide variety of output contact configuration
• Industry standard mounting
Standards and Certifications:
• UL®, CE, cUL®, RoHS, TUV

Idem Safety Switches is one of the leading design companies for Switches.
Idem has introduced the Guardian Line range of Safety ‘Grab Wire’ Rope switches -the world’s most comprehensive range of Grab Wire Safety switches covering all applications and industry sectors.
One of the areas which makes the Guardian Line new and innovative is in the area of rope connectivity. Traditional ‘turnbuckle’ style rope fasteners and adjusters are prone to rope slippage and require frequent re-tensioning leading to production loss caused by machine down time.
Idem has overcome this common problem by providing a ‘no nuts or bolts’ rope connection system with a ‘Quick Link’ clasp at one end of the rope and a patented Tensioner /Gripper at the other.
The Tensioner / Gripper is located at the switch (rather than elsewhere along the rope length) so that the switch tension window can be viewed.
Final setting and locking can be achieved in a matter of seconds without any need for frequent re-tensioning.

Positive Break Enhances Safety in Hazardous Environments
Honeywell introduces its MICRO SWITCH™ GSX Series Explosion-Proof Safety Switch. The GSX Series combines world-class MICRO SWITCH™ global limit safety product (GSS) with an explosion-proof housing from Honeywell’s LSX and BX product lines. The GSX Series Safety Switch platform provides over 10,000 actuator and switching option combinations and can be applied to machine safety in hydrocarbon refining, chemical process, grain elevators, other agricultural or food processing equipment.
The GSX switch can be applied to a gate, cage or access panel that is positioned as hard guarding to a dangerous machine so that, when opened, the machine stops. Explosion-proof safety switches are required on machinery found in hazardous locations, where hazardous gasses or dusts could cause an explosion. The positive break mechanism will ensure that even welded contacts will open and the machine will stop in an emergency. The positive break feature is designed to provide a safe failure mode, ensuring the machine will not start, and therefore supporting a safer working environment.
