V-Lock Cord Retaining System
This V-Lock system by Schurter is an attractive and simple solution to prevent an unintentional unplugging. Various different connectors, Power Entry Modules and several country-specific power cables are available with this option.
.
The V-Lock locking system can be used for 10A and 16A power inlets and connectors according to IEC 60320. This system works in such a way that there is a pin in the socket, interlocking with a notch in the plug and thus prevents an unintentional pullout of the power cable. The advantage of this system is that there is no need for a specific socket system or retaining device that has to be adapted and built-in.
The locking is released by pressing on the releasing lever. This lever is easily detected by its bright yellow colour and thus distinguishes this system from existing power cable connections. The extraction force is a minimum of 200 N. Typical applications are in medical appliances,
analysis and laboratory instruments, Telecom and IT- devices, power distribution or radio and TV-studios.

Finder has announced additions to its 18 Series of PIR motion detectors supporting a variety of interior energy saving schemes. The compact 18.21 and 18.31 variants will meet the needs of higher ceiling, higher load switching applications and those requiring direct interface to a PLC or BMS.
Recess mounted, the flush fitting 18.31 suits suspended or plasterboard ceilings while the 18.21 is a low profile PIR for hard surface mounting. Providing a 10 amp rated normally open volt free output, the detectors will switch loads at any voltage and are not restricted to 230VAC mains tasks. 24V ac/dc supply versions are also available for applications without a mains supply or where safe, low voltage operation is required.
With a 110º wide sensing angle and a reach of 2.8m, the 18.21-0300 and 18.31-0300 PIRs will handle all types of regular ceiling height applications. For high bay or extended ceiling height duties, the 18.31-0031 PIR variant offers a much longer sensing range of up to 8m.
The Finder PIRs also offer an adjustable light threshold setting allowing operation to be varied according to ambient light conditions. In addition, an enhanced light-on time adjustment of up to 35 minutes makes the PIRs well suited to HID lamp applications, which for reasons of preserving lamp life, place a restriction on the number of starts per hour.

Customizable Devices Provide High Sensitivity at Very Low Flows, Low Pressure Drop,
High Stability, and Help Reduce Production Costs
Honeywell announced the introduction of the Honeywell Zephyr™ Digital Airflow Sensors that deliver the industry’s most accurate airflow reading across the operating range of the sensor. The new HAF Series devices provide highly accurate digital output, enhanced reliability, and repeatable measurements to meet many medical and industrial application specifications.
The Honeywell Zephyr™ Digital Airflow Sensors offer several competitive advantages not found in other digital airflow sensors, including:
* High 2.5% accuracy that allows for very precise airflow measurement, often ideal for demanding applications with high accuracy requirements;
* Customization, which allows the sensor to be designed to meet specific end-user needs;
* High sensitivity at very low flows to enable the detection of the presence or absence of airflow in the application;
* High stability to reduce errors due to thermal effects and null shift to provide accurate readings over time, often eliminating the need for system calibration after printed circuit board (PCB) mount, and periodically over time;
* Low pressure drop, which typically improves patient comfort in medical applications, and reduces noise and system wear in components such as motors and pumps;
* Linear output to provide a more intuitive sensor signal than the raw output of basic airflow sensors which can help customers reduce production costs and implementation time.
The Honeywell Zephyr™ Digital Airflow Sensors simplify the customer’s production requirements due to Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC)-based I2C digital output that eases integration to micro-processors or microcontrollers, reducing PCB complexity and component count. Their small size occupies less space on the PCB, allowing for a smaller PCB, which can reduce production costs and simplify installation in space-restricted applications. Their low 3.3 Vdc voltage option and low power supply requirements allow for use in battery-powered and portable applications.
Honeywell Zephyr™ Digital Airflow Sensors are designed to measure mass flow of air and other non-corrosive gases. They are available in standard flow ranges, and are fully calibrated and temperature compensated. They provide a digital interface for reading airflow over the specified full scale flow span and temperature range, and their thermally isolated heater and temperature sensing elements help provide a fast response to air or gas flow.
Potential medical applications include anesthesia delivery machines, hospital diagnostics (spectrometry, gas chromatography), nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, patient monitoring systems (respiratory monitoring), sleep apnea machines, spirometers, ventilators, and ventricular assist devices. Potential industrial applications include air-to-fuel ratio, analytical instrumentation (spectrometry, chromatography), fuel cells, gas leak detection, gas meters, HVAC filters, meteorology equipment, and variable air volume (VAV) systems on HVAC systems.
