Devices Provide Enhanced Performance, Accuracy, and Sensitivity While Lowering Integration Costs
Honeywell has expanded its industry-leading ASDX Series silicon pressure sensor portfolio with ultra-low pressure ranges that include 0 to 10 inches of H2O gage, ± 10 inches of H2O differential, and ± 5 inches of H2O differential. These sensors include additional signal conditioning integrated within the product, allowing customers to remove components associated with signal conditioning from their PC board to free space and reduce costs normally associated with those components.
The Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC)-based design provides a fast, highly accurate, amplified, conditioned pressure reading. Ratiometric 12-bit analog output for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range allows for fast and easy integration into standard electronic circuits, and 12-bit I2C or SPI digital interface for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature
range minimizes connections and provides higher resolution and faster performance through reduced conversion requirements and the convenience of direct interface to the microprocessors and microcontrollers.
The ASDX Series achieve a tight total error band of ± 2.0% of full scale span maximum, providing enhanced sensitivity and accuracy even at ultra-low pressure ranges. Custom calibration ranges (inches H2O, psi, mbar, bar, kPa), supply voltage of 3.3 Vdc or 5.0 Vdc, and absolute, differential, and gage pressure types expand application opportunities.
These ultra-low pressure sensors are intended for use with non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids, such as air and dry gases. The ASDX Series pressure sensors are fully calibrated and temperature compensated for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature effects, and non-linearity. Calibrated output values for pressure are updated at approximately 1 kHz.
The ASDX Series silicon pressure sensors may potentially be used in industrial and medical applications including barometry, flow calibrators, gas-flow instrumentation, sleep apnea/therapy equipment, pneumatic controls, and ventilation/airflow monitors.

For use in extreme ambient conditions, particularly outdoor applications.
With the new piezo keypads SCHURTER provides key panels that are impervious to all kinds of dirt and fluids. The keypads are particularly suitable for use in outdoor applications due to their ability to resist extreme ambient conditions such as negative temperatures, ice and snow. The keypads fulfill the IP69K protection class and have a reliable operating temperature from -25°C to + 85°C. The accessory kit from SCHURTER enable the keypad to be sealed into the housing with the IP68 protection class. The piezo keypads can be mounted into the housing from the front or
the rear.
As a standard, the keypads are available as a number block with 12 or 16 keys and with an aluminium front. Point illumination may be integrated into the individual key fields as optical feedback or for user navigation. The operating panel can be designed in several colours in both the aluminium and stainless steel versions. In addition, SCHURTER can provide keypads that are adapted to customer requirements with respect to outer geometry as well as to the number and arrangement of the keys.
By using the piezo principle, the keypads are free of mechanical parts and therefore have an extremely long lifetime of more than 20 million actuations. The completely sealed operating panel is easy to clean and is resistant to common cleaning agents. The metal surface with an IK05 impact strength renders the keypads highly resistant to impacts from outside. The piezo keypads provide a high level of functional reliability, leading to a reduction in maintenance costs.

Bulgin’s new self-pairing Bluetooth cable replacement products eliminate data cables and allow equipment with RS485 or RS232 data ports to communicate using wireless Bluetooth technology.
The IP68 rated environmentally sealed enclosure protects against dust and moisture, so the units can be used in numerous harsh or hostile applications. The PX0885 can be mounted internally or externally for maximum flexibility, convenience and also for optimum range.
Wireless point-to-point or multi-drop data connections can be made quickly and easily between serial interfaces or dumb devices and work transparently without any need for a PC, PLC or Bluetooth software. Master and Slave units automatically establish a data link between themselves; no intervention or special serial commands are required, enabling fast and cost-effective cable replacement or data network extension. The Master automatically connects with up to six Slave units to form a multi-drop network.
The communication Baud rate, parity, stop bits and flow control can be re-configured using a downloadable software application. Half and Full Duplex RS232, RS422 (4-wire) and RS485 (2-wire) modes are easily selected. Factory default settings are: 9600, N, 8, 1 without flow control, and the products will self-connect and work straight out-of-the box without any intervention or adjustment.
Typical applications include: wireless metering and telemetry, temporary and permanent installations, water industry, environmental monitoring, energy management, factory monitoring, plant and machinery, transport/traffic systems and vehicle communications between tractor and trailer.
These units can be used when cables are difficult, impractical or expensive to install, for example; between different buildings, between walls or floors, around other obstructions, or open field sites. With a wireless communication range of up to 100m, significant savings could be made over a hard-wired solution in terms of installation time, disruption and cost.
An interface connector adapter board, PX0884, is available, providing convenient screw terminals for connection to serial data lines and power supply, and also an industry standard RS232 9-D connector. DIP switches allow selection of RS232/RS485 and Half/Full duplex modes, and alteration of 9-D connector pinout for DTE or DCE compatibility.

Pressure Ranges from 1 to 5 psi, On-Board Signal Conditioning, Custom Calibration,
and Digital Output Options Provide Support for Many Unique Applications
Honeywell has expanded its industry-leading ASDX plastic silicon pressure sensor family with the new ASDX Series and ASDX-DO Series, which offer pressure ranges from 1 psi to 5 psi and on-board signal conditioning.
The on-board signal conditioning allows the customer to remove those components from their PC board to free space, may reduce their acquisition, inventory, and assembly costs, and minimize potential problems from having multiple signal conditioning
components spread across a circuit board.
These low-pressure sensors are intended for use with non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids, such as air and dry gases. Potential industrial and medical applications include barometry, flow calibrators, gas-flow instrumentation, sleep apnea/therapy equipment, pneumatic controls, and ventilation/airflow monitors.
The ASDX and ASDX-DO Series pressure sensors are fully calibrated and temperature compensated for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature effects, and non-linearity using an on-board Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). Calibrated output values for pressure are updated at approximately 1 kHz.
The ASDX Series with compensated analog output provides a ratiometric 12 bit analog output for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range, typically allowing for fast and easy integration into standard electronic circuits. The ASDXDO Series with compensated 14 bit digital output provides either an I2C or SPI digital interface for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range, minimizing connections, providing higher resolution, and faster performance through reduced conversion requirements and the convenience of direct interface to the microprocessors or microcontrollers.
