UP1 Undervoltage Release Switch for Operators Safety
The new UP1 undervoltage switch monitors the supply voltage and actuates a trip release when there is an intense drop in voltage or when the supply voltage is interrupted. As soon as the supply voltage returns in full, the machine or equipment does not automatically restart in an uncontrolled manner, but must be consciously switched on again. Using this function, dangerous situations for operating personnel as well as for the surroundings of the device itself can be prevented.
The UP1 is a 2-pole circuit breaker with additional undervoltage monitoring actuates a trip re-lease with a loss of voltage or an intense voltage drop. The breaker is available with rocker actuation for snap-in mounting or with push-button actuation for both snap-in mounting as well as screw fitting. Protection covers against the ingress of dust and spray water make the use of the breaker in harsh environments such as wood-, masonry- or metal-workings possible.
The requirement for the use of undervoltage protection is in existence for applications such as gardening equipment, gardening shredders, floor cleaning and sanding devices, electrical tools such as circular saws, band saws, grinding machines and drills. Further examples are fuel pumps, coffee-milling devices, fruit juice squeezing machines and fruit juice centrifuges.
The UP1 undervoltage circuit breaker is configured differently in its hardware for various net-work supply voltages und must be therefore ordered for the appropriate supply voltage. Rated switching category is AC-1 16A / AC-3 14.5A @ AC 240 V. The breakers are approved to IEC 60947, UL 508, CSA 22.2 No.14-95 and also contain a horsepower rating.
Technical Characteristics:
- 2-pole switch
- Undervoltage trip release with restart prevention
- Available with rocker or push-button actuation
- Dust and jetting water protection to IP 65
- VDE & cURus approvals for rated currents AC-1 16A / AC-3 14.5A @ AC 240V

V-Lock Cord Retaining System
This V-Lock system by Schurter is an attractive and simple solution to prevent an unintentional unplugging. Various different connectors, Power Entry Modules and several country-specific power cables are available with this option.
.
The V-Lock locking system can be used for 10A and 16A power inlets and connectors according to IEC 60320. This system works in such a way that there is a pin in the socket, interlocking with a notch in the plug and thus prevents an unintentional pullout of the power cable. The advantage of this system is that there is no need for a specific socket system or retaining device that has to be adapted and built-in.
The locking is released by pressing on the releasing lever. This lever is easily detected by its bright yellow colour and thus distinguishes this system from existing power cable connections. The extraction force is a minimum of 200 N. Typical applications are in medical appliances,
analysis and laboratory instruments, Telecom and IT- devices, power distribution or radio and TV-studios.
.
USP's: - prevents unintentional disconnection
- increased safety and reliablility
- most cost effective cord retaining solution on market
- attractive design
- easy to use
The following connector types can be manufactured with the V-Lock option in series:
6010, 6061, GSP1, GSP2, DF11, 6600-3, 6600-4, 6610, 4797

New feature makes further customization possible
Schurter proudly announces the addition of a colour anodized aluminium housing to the popular line of metal pushbutton switches. The red and green housings can be used to distinguish the start/stop switching functions.
The robust vandal proof switch has an IK07 protection class for high impact and IP67 ingress protection against water and dust. Its low profile flat front construction guards against side impact. The actuator is made of durable stainless steel.
The standard versions of the new MSM color housing are offered in 19 and 22mm mounting diameters with electrical rating of 5A @ 250 VAC. Additionally, custom lettering, other mounting diameters, and colours are available. Versions with switching current and voltage of 100 mA @ 30 VDC, or 10A @ 250 VAC are also available. A version with IP67 rated microswitch provides seal protection from the back. Terminals are quick-connect. Assembly includes pre-wiring of the contact module, which is then snapped onto the actuator housing. Typical applications include controller panels for automated machinery, construction machinery, industrial and medical equipment.

Schurter presents its new standard DC filter series FMER SOL suited for use on the DC side of the inverter in photovoltaic systems and other DC systems.
Modern solar inverters, that use MPP (maximum power point) trackers, generate disturbances into both the grid’s AC power line, as well as the DC side of the solar module. An AC filter is normally used on the grid’s AC power line, but the noise generated on the DC side tends to be overlooked. EMC standards EN 61000-6-3 and EN55014-1, however, also put limits on the noise generated from lines not connected to the grid, such as for example the line to the solar panels. Meeting these limits can be achieved by using a DC filter on the DC side of the inverter.
Large solar inverters installed in electrical installations will generally require a cooling system. Components which provide high temperature resistance simplify the system and reduce the energy needed to cool. The FMER SOL filters are designed for rated currents from 25A to 1500A at 55°C ambient temperature, and voltages up to 1200VDC. The filters are cURus and ENEC approved up to 75°C ambient temperature, with corresponding reduced rated currents.
The FMER SOL DC filters are designed with screw clamps for types up to 150A and copper bars for types upwards of 250A. Other types of connections, such as wires or copper bars <250A, are available on request. Small adjustments can also be made to the electrical circuit or to the filter housing on request.
.
.
Technical Data:
- Rated currents: 25A to 1500A at 55°C
- Operating voltage: up to 1200VDC
- Temperature range: -40°C to +100°C
