Crydom, a brand of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) and global expert in solid state relay and contactor technology, introduces the “PowerPlusDC” Series of DC output SSRs. Complementing its extensive line of both AC and DC output SSRs, the “PowerPlusDC” Series features traditional “Crydom Series 1” panel mounted style SSRs with ratings from 1 to 100 amps, at 1 to 400 VDC in a 40°C ambient temperature. The “PowerPlusDC” Series feature available Logic Compatible Control Inputs of either 4 to 32 VDC or 90 to 140VAC, with standard LED input status indicator.

Schurter is expanding its range of surface-mount fuses with the UMF 250. With its quick-acting characteristic according to IEC 60127- 4 the UMF 250 represents the logical addition to the successful UMT 250 series. The UMF 250 protects your electronic systems from overcurrents and short-circuits.
Schurter offers the UMF 250 in five rated currents from 500 mA to 10 A. The fuse is characterized by its high breaking capacity of up to 200 A at rated voltage. With the UMF 250 both primary and secondary protection on SMD PCBs is possible. Applications include protection of power supplies, medical equipment, and devices for home and industrial use.
As a RoHS compliant fuse, the UMF 250 can be used with lead-free soldering processes. Hylec-APL has expanded on its already wide range of cable glands with the introduction of the Kwik Fix range. Designed for use in applications where access to the interior of a bulkhead or enclosure is restricted, the Kwik Fix can be used to form a quick, IP68 connection. Especially suitable for use with Switch Cabinets and cooling and heating systems, the Kwik Fix can reduce installation time which will increase profitability.
Traditional dome topped cable glands are ideal for creating a simple and secure entry point for bulkheads and enclosures. Secured from the inside using a locking nut they form an IP68 seal which a cable can be simply passed through. However, when access to the inside is restricted installation time can be greatly increased and it may even be necessary to adopt specialist tooling or, if the panel is large, 2 people would be required to assemble the glands into position.
The Kwik Fix cable gland from Hylec-APL is installed by placing the mounting foot of the gland through the entry hole. The mounting foot is designed with a lip that can pulled tight against the inner wall; an external hexagonal locking nut is then turned anti-clockwise to hold the gland in place and form an IP68 seal. Once locked in place you can install the corresponding cable in the traditional manner; tightening the top dome nut in a clockwise direction.
This means that the gland can be easily mounted and dismounted from one side making installation and maintenance far simpler. The gland can be fitted onto entries where the wall thickness is between 1mm and 4mm and the waterproof solutions can operate safely in temperatures between -20 degrees C and 100 degrees C.

Finder has introduced a new family of ultra-slim relay interface modules that provides a low-cost, space-saving solution for a host of industrial applications. The 39 Series MasterINTERFACE range incorporates an innovative, replaceable fuse for output circuit protection, plus busbars and terminals that substantially simplify input and output wiring.
Housed in a compact 6.2mm wide package, the 39 Series offers integral coil protection circuitry across the gamut, as well as a secure retention and ejection clip, and terminal screws suitable for blade and crosshead screwdrivers. Five dedicated module types are offered, designed to meet the specific requirements for basic, enhanced, input, output and timer interface functions.
Available with electromechanical or solid state relays for general interfacing applications, the MasterBASIC features common link supply terminal positions, allowing the use of a 16-way jumper link. The enhanced MasterPLUS module adds the option of a quick connection replaceable output fuse and special leakage current suppression versions to mitigate any detrimental effects caused by residual current in the input circuit. Both the MasterINPUT and MasterOUTPUT incorporate additional busbar jumper links and terminals necessary for the full connection of 2- or 3-wire input devices and output devices respectively, thus reducing component cost, time and panel space. The MasterTIMER is a multi-function and multi-range device with DIP-switch selection of 4 time scales and 8 functions, with timer delay adjustment achieved via an easy-to-access rotary knob on the top surface of the module.
A range of accessories is available to support the 39 Series relay interface modules, including red, blue and black 16-way jumper links, and dual purpose separators (1.8mm or 6.2mm) for the visual or protective separation of groups of interfaces operating from different supply voltages, or for the protection of cut ends of jumper links. Crydom introduces the DP Series of High Power “H” Bridge configuration DC output Solid State Contactors, including control features for Soft Start, Soft Stop, and Brake functions. Rated for General Use at 20, 40 or 60 amps and Motor Controller rated for 15 FLA from 1 to 48 VDC in a 40 °C ambient temperature, the DP Series accepts logic supply and Input Controls of either 4.5 to 15 VDC or 18 to 32 VDC. Optional Soft Start/Soft Stop functions utilizing internal PWM are available with 0.2, 0.5 or 1.0 second ramps. An optional Brake function (not available with Soft Stop) is available with 0.2, 0.5, 0.8 seconds or continuous hold.
The DP Series Solid State DC Reversers are an all-solid-state design with 2.5 Kv Optical Isolation and incorporate low dissipation power FETs for fast and efficient Load control. The FN5040/45 sinusoidal output filters reduce the extra losses in AC motors and help to prevent premature failures and expensive downtimes. They are precisely matched to the technical requirements of modern drive systems and are particularly impressive when used with long motor cables.
With the introduction of the FN5040/45, Schaffner, the international leader in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility and power quality, is further expanding its range of products for improving reliability in motor drive technology. The new sinusoidal output filters smooth the modulated output voltage of modern drives and provide the motor with a clean sinusoidal voltage with low residual ripple. This largely prevents premature ageing or destruction of the AC motor due to high dv/dt, over-voltages, bearing currents or overheating due to extra losses. Expensive downtimes are avoided, and premature service or repair is eliminated.
The new filters are available in a compact open frame design (FN5040) or as a user-friendly packaged version (FN5045 - IP20). The cable-shield support brackets integrated into the housing facilitates work for the installer and favours savings of installation time and costs. Easily understood application instructions allow it to be safely used even beyond standard specifications, for motor frequencies up to 200 Hz or motor cable lengths up 2000 meters. Both models are designed for rated currents of 4.5 to 1200 A and for networks up to 3x 500 VAC (+/- 10%). The UL listing is currently in preparation.
Applications in building technology (pumps, fans, HVAC) benefit equally from the use of the new sinusoidal filter, as do industrial applications with very long motor cables or with several motors connected in parallel.
