Schurter’s TA35 series introduces a new generation of Circuit Breakers for Equipment. The breakers are available in 1-, 2- or 3-pole arrangements and stand out through their compact form and attractive design. The rocker-actuating switch can be supplied either with or without illumination in six different colours with various legends or customer specific symbols. The breakers have been designed for efficient snap-in mounting, fitting panel thicknesses ranging from 1 to 4 mm. Connections are made with 6.3 x 0.8 mm quick connect terminals.
The TA35 provides both the function of a switch as well as thermal overload protection. It has finely graduated rated currents of 0.05 A to 20 A for the 1- and 2-pole types, or 0.05 A to 12 A for 3-pole versions. An optional protective cover gives a protection class of IP 65, making the unit suitable for applications exposed to dust or splashing water; typical applications are laboratory equipment for chemical and medical applications, wood and masonry processing machines, construction site equipment, power generators, cleaning equipment, food-processing equipment and appliances.
The new circuit breaker series is approved according to IEC 60934, UL 1077 and CSA C22.2 235 and has received or is pending VDE, cURus and CCC approvals.

Schurter is pleased to announce the new series 5003 Filtered Power Entry Module for DC applications. The new, compact filter is designed for DC power supplies used in Information Technology Equipment. The 5003 features a standard DC connector offered in two different connector styles.
The connector is encased with a 1-stage filter for rated currents 3, 6, 10 and 15A. It provides an outstanding wide-band absorption rate in frequencies ranging from 100 kHz to 30 MHz. The unit mounts to the equipment enclosure with a metal flange, thus providing a large contact area for optimal shielding of the panel opening. A version for front or rear mounting is secured using screws and nuts, or rivets.
A version specifically for rear mounting features pre-formed, threaded holes for M3 screws. This version eliminates the requirement for nuts, reducing costs and automating assembly. The 5003 fulfills the requirements of IEC/EN/UL 60950 for use in IT equipment, and is pending certification according to UL/CSA up to 15A at 125VDC. Applications include LAN and WAN devices, such as routers, switches and multiplexers.

Schurter’s IEC connector power entry modules are now available with a two stage line filter for high attenuation characteristics over a broad frequency range. The highly compact FKHD and FKID models consist of a C14 appliance inlet type according to IEC 60320-1 with a two pole line switch, fuse holder and filter.
The fuse holder offers one or two pole protection via 5 x 20mm fuse links. The fuse-links can only be replaced when the power cable is removed, ensuring a current free fuse replacement. The modules are available in a nickel-plated metal version as well as in a cost efficient aluminium version. All of the filters have the option of a medical version additionally to the standard filter for rated currents at 1, 2, 4, 6 and 10A. Schurter’s FKH and FKI modules offer the same options in a single stage filter
Schurter products are characterised by high quality, innovative design, with modules pre-wired as standard eliminating the time and expense of fitting link wires. A further advantage is the layout of the components, which allows a line interruption by the switch close to the power entrance, therefore producing no standby-losses within the filter components. The screw-on mounting offers a low mounting height.
The FK range is approved for 1-10 A 125/250 VAC, 50/60 Hz according to IEC/EN, resp. UL CSA. Furthermore they meet all requirements according to IEC/EN 60950. The modules are ideal for use in medical applications according to IEC 60601-1 as well as for general data communication or similar industrial applications according to IEC 60950. The two-stage version of the filter suits especially for applications as measurement and audio equipment, where an optimal signal-to-noise ratio is required.

Schurter has expanded its popular stainless steel MSM series with the addition of a 30 mm diameter switch. The current product line is already available in 16, 19, and 22 mm mounting diameters. The new MSM30 offers the same robust characteristics as its smaller counterparts, only it has a larger, ergonomically designed, actuating area for superb tactile feel. Actuation force is 4.5 Newtons, and contact travel is only 1 millimeter with a fixed stop accompanied by a pleasant audible click. The MSM series provides maximum switching power over a voltage range of 5 V DC to 250 V AC and a current range of 0.1 – 10 amps. Switching action is single-pole, momentary with N.O. and N.C. contacts available.
Built for tough environments, the MSM carries a water-resistant rating of IP 67, making it ideal for use outdoors, or in equipment exposed to the liquid spills, drips, leaks or wash-downs. A shock resistant rating of IK 07 makes it ideal for use in environments where the switch can be subject to heavy use or impact. The switch can also operate under varying temperature conditions as low as -25 and as high as 85 C. A flat front construction of only 1.7 millimeters provides a nearly flush mounting to the panel surface, which makes it less conspicuous and therefore less likely to be knocked or battered from the side.
These new MSM30 is ideal for systems where a large actuating area is required for operation, such as information, security and vending systems. Wiring is via quick connect terminals. Assembly includes pre-wiring of the contact module, which is then snapped onto the actuator housing. Point and ring illuminated versions of the MSM are available for applications where optical status indications are desired, such as dark conditions or disability access systems.
