Single Phase Block Filter, Protection Class II
• Protection class II without ground wire
• Filter with standard or high performance attenuation
• Excellent symmetrical attenuation
• Fully closed steel housing
Schurter expands the proven FMAB NEO single-phase filter family with new variants for protection class II applications. The new filter series without protective ground connection is available as a medical M5 version for a rated current range from 1 A to 20 A with plug-in terminals.
Protection class II, also known as protective insulation, means protection by double or reinforced insulation. All clearances and creepage distances must be doubled, and inside the filter double or reinforced insulation is mandatory. The new FMAB NEO filter series Protection Class II meets all these requirements: reinforced insulation inside the filter and the plug-in terminals have a large plastic collar. The filters are tested with 4 kVAC between L or N against the metal housing.
Applications
Protection class II applications do not have a protective ground wire. To ensure effective personal protection even without a protective ground conductor, protection class II devices feature additional insulation. Typical applications include power tools, audio and video equipment and many medical devices. Protection class II is even mandatory for a variety of medical applications. For example, medical devices for use at home must be of protection class II according to IEC 60601-1-11.
Approvals
The single-stage FMAB NEO filter family has a particularly compact design combined with high performance. It is suitable for applications in the temperature range from -40 °C to 100 °C and has ENEC and cURus approvals.

Through-Hole OGN Fuse Holder for Fully Automated PCB assembly
• Suitable for fully automated PCB assembly
• Reflow capable
• Fully backwards compatible with OGN for THT
• Available with blister tape packaging
The Schhurter OGN fuse holder is a product that has proven itself over decades and has been continuously improved and expanded with new variants. It started with a THT version (Through-Hole Technology), followed by one for SMT (Surface-Mounting Technology). Now Schurter is introducing a third option, which closes the last gap: THR (Through-Hole Reflow).
Highly integrated electronic circuits are almost exclusively assembled with SMT components and soldered in a reflow oven. However, it is sometimes necessary to include THT components on the circuit board. This has a decisive disadvantage: THT components need to be soldered differently, a second soldering process is necessary.
The Solution: THR
In fact, THR components are through-hole components. They are specially designed for automated assembly and high thermal stress in the reflow oven. During the assembly process, a paste is first printed into the vias for the THT pins, and then the component is pushed through the solder paste. As the paste melts in the reflow oven, the liquid solder retracts into the vias due to wetting and capillary forces and forms the solder joint.
OGN: The Classic
The open fuse holder OGN is designed for 5x20 fuses of various types. It naturally complies with the tightened rules of glow wire resistance according to IEC 60335-1. If desired, it can be converted into a closed fuse holder by means of an optionally available cover.
Preassembled Variants to Follow:
In the near future Schurter will offer the OGN for THR pre-assembled with a 5x20 fuse in blister packaging (tape & reel). This according to customer requirements for fully automated PCB assembly. Just as Schurter is already doing with the OGN for SMT today.

MSM
The new Design Line from SCHURTER
• For intuitively safe, reliable, and elegant design
• With modern dead-front LED illumination
With the Design Line MSM RD, Schurter extends the MSM product family of mechanical switches and breathes new life into conventional pushbuttons. The progressive modern look of dead-front displays provides expanded design options with the known intuitive features of tactile feel and optical feedback.
The new MSM RD variants are distinguished by its high-quality choice of materials. The switch housing is made of black anodized aluminum. With the combination of the special black translucent plastic for its ring lighting, the switch gives a very elegant, modern appearance.
Ring Illumination
While the DF black Light Guide material is translucent, it is very robust. The switch appears inconspicuously black when the lighting is inactive. It thus fits unobtrusively and discreetly into dark operating surfaces. If the illumination is active, the ring shines in the set color without any color shift despite the dark Light Guide material. Thus, special design effects or specific attention to detail can be created.
Variants
Like all our products, the MSM RD variants are characterized by the highest quality. As standard, the ring illuminated switches are available in different sizes as well as in different illumination colors. Depending on the variant, the switch can operate up to 10A.
Application areas - Intuitive Operation and Design
Many unsafe incidents are due to operational errors. As an example, criteria for intuitive operation of laboratory and medical equipment plays a major role in increasing the safety of the operating process.
What was once acceptable as a simple switch has become outdated due to higher demands being placed on the design and operation of a device.
Mechanical switches are still used for this reason because haptic feedback in combination with optical feedback is still considered the highest level of safety used to ensure human-centered design.
The Schurter MSM RD switch variants support the design of modern operator interfaces, which are more often made of dark plastic or glass surfaces. It combines intuitive feedback, high reliability, and elegant design in response to designer demands. The switch is not only "beautiful», but the materials are also suitable for outdoor use, because the black Light Guide material is also UV resistant

Schurter presents the new waterproof IEC connector consisting of the appliance inlet type 4761 and the rewireable cord connector type 4762. With its high protection class IP 67 or IP 69K connected or unconnected with cover, this appliance coupler is perfect for supplying power to appliances used in harsh environments such as industrial, marine, laboratories or any type of outdoor appliances.
The Push/Pull locking system provides a strong reliable connection, yet at the same time ensures a break-away cable in the event of overdue stress. The blue shape and color of the pull-out mechanism indicates the pull-out direction. A clear catch sound is heard upon the seated connection. The connector style is similar to the international standards of IEC and UL/CSA 60320, but is distinguished by a special arrangement of the contacts, so as not to interchange with conventional power cords. This ensures the maximum power applied, IP protection and the cord retention. The connector can be temporarily submerged in water and can be cleaned with high-pressure hot water cleaners. Both components are very easy to terminate. The inlet 4761 is available with solder or quick connect terminals. The connector is equipped with conventional screw terminals, as commonly seen in rewireable connector designs. Thus, no special tools for wire assembly are necessary.
The appliance couplers are available in black and white. The dual components, appliance inlet and cord connector, can be ordered as complete sets, which simplifies the ordering processes and customer logistics. The inlet and connector are also available as individual components for separate inventorying. Accessory covers are available for both plug parts, providing a waterproof protection IP 67 in plugged state and IP 69K in an unplugged state. These protective covers also offer protection against pollutants, which can potentially contaminate the contacts.
The approvals of these connectors according to IEC/UL 60320 simplify the process for the equipment manufacturer to obtain approval of their appliances, because many equipment standards with respect to the power supply refers to these component standard.

Switch For Contactless, Hygienic Switching with Customized Color Settings:
• Contactless switch with optical feedback
• Individual, customized color settings
• For applications in public areas (no smear infections)
• High precision detection
Contactless, highly precise and now also individually color-customizable: The new Schurter TTS RGB extends the technical finesse of the TTS switch introduced last year with the popular RGB functionality.
The TTS family is getting a new member in the form of a color-customizable variant, called: TTS RGB. All TTS switches use the highly precise Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology. Light is emitted by a transmitter and reflected by one or more objects. The reflected light beams are then detected and the distance is determined from the time of flight.
Colorful Ring Illumination:
In addition to the pre-programmed bicolor switches, which are available in "Momentary" and "Latching" versions, the new RGB variant makes things much more colorful. Depending on the wiring, the customer can easily set the ring illumination color as desired.
High Reliability:
By default, the detection distance is programmed for 20 to 60 mm. This ensures that wiping/cleaning the switch surface will not trigger a signal. An advantage of ToF technology is that this sensor technology has no problems in differentiating dark from light surfaces. White or black objects: this has no effect on detection quality or speed.
Since the TTS has no moving parts, its service life is more than 20 million switching cycles. Thanks to its high IP protection class and the ability to "detect" rain, this switch is also ideally suited for outdoor use.
Application Areas:
The contactless switches of the TTS RGB family are extremely multifunctional. They can be used wherever contact should be avoided to the greatest possible extent. Examples would be doors, garbage cans, parking systems and sanitary areas.

Convenience Outlets Redesigned
• NR010 – IDC Along orientation for efficient wiring
NEW: IDC Cross Orientation to the Pin-Axis
• NR020 – The classic with improved temperature rating
• NR021 – Tamper Resistant
Schurter's latest series of appliance outlets NR020 and NR021 combine classic features with new ones to meet increased fire protection and safety standards according to UL 498 Tamper Resistant, as well as facilitating compliance of receptacles used in Household and Commercial Furniture and Furniture Power Distribution Units (FPDUs), according to UL 962 and UL 962A. Higher temperature ratings and added configurations for series NR010 and NR020 respond to power demands facing Datacom infrastructures today.
Higher Temperature Rated Receptacles:
Packing density of equipment for data communication and storage continues to be regularly revolutionized with the surge of usage and functionality. Increasing ambient temperatures go hand in hand with these advancements, as demand trickles down to the smallest components to keep pace with emerging needs of the appliance manufacturers. The NR010 and NR020 series have an operating temperature range of -25 ˚C to 150 ˚C in response to the power needs of the Datacom industry. In addition, the NR010 with IDC terminals in Along- and Cross orientation to the Pin-Axis provides a version with an independent L terminal for the IDC-Along version. The neutral and ground terminals can still be bussed, while the line terminal can be used for maximum load according to UL rating 15 A, 125 V. It also extends the capability of adding functionality to each outlet individually.
Tamper Resistant Receptacles – TRR:
The concept of tamper-resistant receptacles is not a recent development; these devices have been a standard product offering of wiring device manufacturers for many years. The devices are designed to protect individuals (primarily children) from accidental shock resulting from the insertion of foreign objects. The US National Electric Code NEC® Article 406.12 states that all 15- and 20-ampere, 125- and 250-Volt nonlocking-type receptacles installed in dwelling units must be Tamper Resistant. In 2017, changes to the Code expanded on these requirements and locations. Previously, tamper-resistant receptacles were required in dwelling units, guest rooms and guest suites of hotels and motels, and in childcare facilities. The expanded code brings these safety devices to preschools and elementary education facilities; business offices, corridors, waiting rooms and the like in clinics, medical and dental offices and outpatient facilities; to assembly occupancies such as places of awaiting transportation, gymnasiums, skating rinks, auditoriums; and to dormitories. These expanded locations are areas that small children frequently occupy.
Tamper resistant receptacles feature a UL recognized safety shutter system that prevents the insertion of foreign objects into a receptacle. The safety shutters will only open upon simultaneous insertion of two plug blades. Additional tests including Probe Test, Impact Test, Mechanical Endurance Test and Dielectric Voltage Withstand Test for Tamper Resistant Receptacles TRR are included in UL 498. After passing all the above performance tests, tamper-resistant receptacles must have either the words “Tamper Resistant" or the letters "TR" (minimum 3/16 inches high) on the device as a clear indication that this is a tamper-resistant receptacle.
Schurters’s NR021 NEMA 5-15R Tamper Resistant series meets the expanded code requirements according to UL 498. Additionally, with the option of an added insulated wall between the L, N terminals, compliance with the Spill Test, outlined in UL 962 Sec. 62, is more cost effective and efficient for manufacturers of Household and Commercial Furniture and Furniture Power Distribution Units (FPDUs).

Active, Electronic Switch for the Harshest Conditions
- Minimal installation depth
- Multi color side illumination
- Modern and fresh design
Compact, light and powerful - these are the requirements that are placed on a switch in a variety of applications. The installation depth often interferes with these requirements. This is not the case with the new MSS from Schurter, but it has even more to offer. Its fresh, lively design with multi-color side illumination and the new switch technology make it stand out from the crowd on the market.
The new MSS uses a technology that was previously unknown in the electronic switch world. The MSS is an active electronic switch that reacts to a minimal deformation of the actuating surface. The technology is extremely precise so that only a small amount of pressure is required.
Gentle Pressure Required
Even light pressure on the surface of the button triggers the switching signal. A mere touch - as with a capacitive switch - is not sufficient for this. For many areas of application, this is exactly what is required. This ensures that no switching function takes place in such a case. The design of this technology is particularly compact and thus enables the low installation depth of the MSS.
Tough Performer
The Schurter MSS switches offer the highest reliability. As they have no moving parts, their service life is more than 20 million switching cycles. Thanks to the enclosed design, the MSS achieves protection class IP67 and shock resistance rating IK06. These values predestine it for use in particularly demanding environments.
Modern and Fresh Design
The innovative multi color side illumination not only provides the user with visual feedback, but also makes the unit's user interface "appear in a new light".
But even with the non-illuminated versions, clear function assignments can be made through the various color versions available. Depending on the color choice of the switch, this gives the user interface a fresh, lively appearance.
Application Areas
The MSS switches are extremely versatile. Due to their technical features, they can be used in industrial installations as well as in devices for the consumer market.
