MCBs are essential components in electrical systems. They are designed to protect applications and electrical loads against the dangerous consequences of overcurrents.
While MCBs according to UL 1077 provide additional protection for low voltage applications, the MCBs according to UL 489 are designed to provide reliable protection for a wide range of applications and voltage ranges.
Our thermal-magnetic MCB portfolio (4230-T) includes both UL 1077 and UL 489 versions have rated currents from 1 to 63 A with different characteristics and numbers of poles. The 4230-T…U product group (UL 489) is suitable for circuit protection in AC or DC networks, the 4230-T…E product group (UL 1077 / EN 60947-2) is designed for additional protection.
The UL 508A standard specifies the requirements for the construction and installation of control panels to ensure that they comply with electrical safety standards. Among other things, the standard covers the design, wiring and operation of control panels and guarantees that they can control electrical systems safely and reliably.
Our 4230-T MCB is suitable for use in switchgear according to UL 508A. Each load can be individually protected according to the standard.

Systematically reducing components is a major success factor for a cost-saving design. And what is more: Fewer components increase the overall reliability and usually lead to space-savings.
E-T-A’s power entry modules combine up to five functions in a single component: a C14/C20 appliance inlet, resettable overcurrent protection, an ON/OFF switch, a line filter and an optional undervoltage release, remote trip or auxiliary switch.
Compared to standard connector modules with fuses the E-T-A power entry modules are equipped with resettable circuit breakers. After an overcurrent trip they can be reset quickly, reliably and easily. Time-consuming fuse replacement is eliminated. Thanks to screw mounting, E-T-A power entry modules have a firm and robust fit in the housing and can thus withstand even high pull-out forces of power cables without any problems.

E-T-A Electronic Overcurrent Protection Devices are ideally suited to protect equipment components in industrial applications and supply lines which are fed by means of a DC24V switch-mode power supply.
Electronic overcurrent protection prevents dips of the output voltage of switched mode power supplies both in the event of short circuit and overload. At the same time these devices provide selective protection or disconnection. Switching high capacitive loads and indicating a functional error is possible without any problems. Fault indication is by means of LEDs and auxiliary contacts. This helps with trouble-shooting and increases machine run times.

DG11 – With Additional Magnetic Release
The Schurter DG11 power entry module, which has been optimized and proven over many years, is now available in a version with an additional magnetic release to protect against very high overcurrent (short circuit).
Circuit breakers are usually designed according to the thermal principle with a bimetal. If a defined temperature is exceeded due to the overcurrent, the circuit is interrupted. Once the bimetal has cooled down, the device is ready for use again. However, this process is very slow. For this reason, thermal circuit breakers are usually combined with a fuse.
New with Additional Magnetic Module
Schurter is upgrading its TA35 2-pole miniature circuit-breakers with an additional, optional magnetic module. From now on, no additional fuse is required for the thermal-magnetic versions. Depending on the application, the magnetic modules are available with both slow and fast characteristics.
V-Lock Cord Retention
The new versions of the DG11 connectors are equipped with the proven V-Lock cord retention protection as standard.
Splash- and Dustproof: IP67
The DG11 power entry module is fitted with special sealing elements (gaskets) to achieve the very high degree of protection IP67.
Application Areas
Wherever dirt, dust particles or water occurs, and the highest safety standards are required, these new Schurter power entry modules are the perfect choice. Typical areas of application are harsh industrial environments or demanding medical applications where cleaning and disinfection as well as maximum protection against overcurrent (short circuit) are required.

The 3120 thermal circuit breaker/switch combination unites overcurrent protection and the function of an ON/OFF switch within a single component. The trip element is a thermal bimetal. Type 3120 is ideally suited for overload protection of motors, pumps, transformers and cables. After tripping, it can reliably, easily and quickly be reset. The positively trip-free mechanism ensures reliable disconnection of the circuit even with the actuator blocked.
