Johnson Electric’s SoftShift linear solenoids provide slow, smooth position control or high speed snap action operation. SoftShift solenoids have a unique construction which allows easy transition from snap action to variable positioning. Using the same power, starting force is three to five times higher than standard solenoids at the fully de-energized position. This is advantageous for starting inertial loads or detent mechanisms, and for conserving electrical power. This solenoid offers quiet operation, high power density, and a variety of sizes. Custom engineered solutions ensure that exact application requirements are met. With life of 10 million cycles, the SoftShift platform is ideal for applications requiring closed loop velocity and position control.

Johnson Electric’s Ultimag® rotary actuator technology offers a bidirectional, center return function not found in traditional rotary solenoids. The Ultimag platform is substantially faster than other solenoids, and can be operated in an on/off mode or proportionally, in both open and closed loop systems. Ultimag actuators offer a 45° stroke; however, the design is capable of a maximum stroke of 160°. For shorter strokes, electronic or mechanical stops can be used. This technology is ideal for applications requiring high speed and high torque motion control often found in industrial, business technology and medical applications.

Johnson Electric’s BTA actuator platform offers high speed controllability in rotary stroke applications. The BTA has a single phase coil with three stator poles and matching rotor pole. When the coil is energized, the poles align along the flux path. The three pole design allows a stroke of up to 45°. Since BTA technology does not require full stroke actuation, stops can be used to attain maximum life as well as optimum stroke / torque capacity.
Using simple pulse width modulation to control coil current, the BTA allows open or closed loop velocity and maximum position control. The BTA platform offers quiet operation due to the soft, shock-free cycling which eliminates the noise associated with end-of stroke mechanical stops. Very quiet operation, long life in excess of 100 million actuations and high power density make the BTA product family ideal for high speed, high throughput diverting and sorting applications that require low noise and zero downtime.

Johnson Electric is the world leader in Rotary Solenoid technology. Rotary solenoids are electromechanical devices that convert linear motion to rotary motion by virtue of three ball bearings that travel down inclined raceways. When the coil is energized, the armature assembly is pulled towards the stator and rotated through an arc determined by the coining of the raceways. These extremely high speed actuation devices provide very long life operation for the most challenging applications. With operating life up to fifty million cycles, a wide variety of sizes and custom engineering for life, speed, environmental conditions and torque requirements, the Rotary DC solenoid is ideal for a variety of markets and applications including door lock, vending machines, industrial automation and medical diagnostic equipment.

● Ultra-slim book style design for DIN-Rail mounting
● Version for backplane chassis mounting
● Double-stage, single-phase filter for highest EMI attenuation
● Cage clamp terminals for quick and efficient wiring
● Variants with overcurrent and overvoltage protection
Schurter’s new FPBB RAIL is an extraordinarily slim double-stage, single-phase filter, measuring only 25 mm in width. The attractive space-saving design integrates an optional fuseholder or circuit breaker. Additionally, an overvoltage varistor is available in all three variations. FPBB RAIL: three functions in one ultra-slim housing.
Space can be a scarce commodity on a panel, particularly panel designs in control cabinets for industrial machinery. Densely populated interference generating components, such as switching power supplies or inverters, can further complicate design when high performance filters are required to reach CE conformity. These filters can be large and can occupy premium space on the DIN-Rail. SCHURTER provides a solution with the FPBB RAIL. The new two-stage filter offers a very high EMI attenutation in an ultra-slim, space-saving housing.
Typical areas of application for the FPBB RAIL are industrial or machine controls, where downsizing and possible relocation of the control cabinet to a more accessible area can be realized. A backplane screw mount version is also available for further flexibility in design. The powerful, slim filters are also ideal for medical equipment according to IEC / UL 60601-1 and ICT equipment according to IEC / UL 60950, offering low leakage or standard current options. Further features include cage clamp terminals for particularly efficient, fast wiring.
The FPBB RAIL is designed for currents from 1 A to 16 A with a maximum of 125 / 250 VAC and 250 VDC according to IEC and UL / CSA standards. The series is ENEC and cURus approved. The filter version can be used over a wide temperature range from -40 °C to 100 °C. Versions with fuseholder and overvoltage protection operate over a range of -40 °C to 85 °C, while those with a circuit breaker are rated for a range of -5 °C to 60 °C.
